Steph and Jim’s wedding on 19 March, was our first for 2016. The couple had chosen Pendennis Castle to host their wedding ceremony, followed by a Reception at The Greenbank Hotel in Falmouth, Cornwall. The two venues together are a popular option and provide a feast of benefits including majesty, hilltop views, history and splendor, plus a waterside location and delicious dining.
We started our day by shooting the Reception room which had been beautifully designed in a woodland theme.
The rest of the morning was spent with the bride, her bridesmaids and family, whilst they prepared for the day ahead.
The bride’s beautiful bouquet was made for her by a member of her family and includes items of jewellery passed down through her family over generations – a truly unique, personal and beautiful piece!
Steph’s dress was equally beautiful with lace and sparkly detail.
At Pendennis Castle, the groom, Jim, and his best men eagerly awaited the arrival of the bride, who was walked down the aisle by her father.
The light at Pendennis Castle is very limited and creates a wonderful atmosphere for the couple, but poses many problems for the tog!
As it was a relatively chilly day, we limited our group shots in the private garden and worked quickly to allow the newly wed’s time with their guests before heading on to their reception venue.
But there was still a little time for foolery. And a few shots capturing the elegance of Pendennis Castle.
The castle is absolutely stunning, even on a dull day…
From the castle we made our way to The Greenbank Hotel in Falmouth for the wedding breakfast and evening reception.
At The Greenbank, the guests settled down for speeches before their meals. The speeches were great fun and had everyone in the room smiling.
Steph and Jim chosen a chocolate brownie wedding cake which looked and smelt delicious – though it made cutting the cake a little more challenging!
The couple enjoyed a moving first dance before one of the best men and another wedding guest provided wonderful live music and a great atmosphere for the wedding party.
