Maypeg was founded by myself, Emma Bryant, a life-long photography enthusiast who was lucky enough to have the opportunity to take the leap and follow my photography dreams.
The name Maypeg came from my two nan’s, May (a.k.a Maisie, who lives in Bristol and is a constant source of inspiration) and Peg (a.k.a Peggy, who sadly passed away just one week after I was married). It was thanks to the money that Nanny Peg left me, that I was able to buy my first DSLR. Granddad Dave was a keen photographer and Nanny Peg worked for many years for Kodak and I remember seeing prints around their home all the time.
Following my daughter Lily being born in 2011, and hundreds of photos of her appearing left, right and centre, I started to receive commissions from friends to photograph their children. This then grew to weddings! I am proud to have worked with some phenomenal photographers, having the opportunity to work with and learn from them by assisting them at weddings has been wonderful and was a great way to build my skills and portfolio.
I took the leap to work alone in 2012, and haven’t really looked back!
Last year was incredibly busy with around 20 weddings, plus christenings, events, commercial work including holiday lets and hotels, family shoots and model portfolios, so this year, I’ve decided to cut down a little and take a limited number of bookings, to ensure that I offer my best service to all clients.
